Replica of Claude Elwood Shannon’s ultimate machine.
This ultimate – or useless – machine is also called the “Leave Me Alone Box”. It has no use and was arguably invented by Marvin Minsky of M.I.T. and then reproduced by Mr. Shannon.
Science-fiction author Arthur C. Clarke wrote about the machine: “There is something unspeakably sinister about a machine that does nothing—absolutely nothing—except switch itself off”.
